Let's Play Donkey Kong Country Returns (100% / Blind!)
Full Name: Donkey Kong Country Returns
Console: Nintendo Wii
Release Year: 2010
LP Timeframe: December 4th, 2025 - present
After more than a decade away from the spotlight, the Donkey Kong Country series made a triumphant comeback in 2010 with Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Nintendo Wii. Developed by Retro Studios, the team behind Metroid Prime, this game revived Rare's classic platforming series with stunning visuals, tight controls and a modern dose of challenge. It's both a love letter to the SNES trilogy and a bold reimagining of what a Donkey Kong game could be in the 21st century.
In Donkey Kong Country Returns, the banana hoard is stolen once again - this time by the mysterious Tiki Tak Tribe, who have hypnotized the island's animals to do their bidding. It's up to Donkey and Diddy Kong to trek across DK Island, from lush jungles to volcanic peaks, to reclaim their bananas and save their home. With physics-driven barrels, clever level design and cooperative multiplayer, the game captures the spirit of the originals while introducing new tricks of its own.

Donkey Kong Country RETURNS! After finishing the SNES trilogy in 2025, this one was inevitable considering it also just barely fit into the 15-Year Rule by December of that year. The big difference between the SNES trilogy and this one: I've only ever played up to world 2, so for the most part this is a blind LP. And I set out to do 100% as well... if only I knew how hard it would actually become!
