Released in 1997 for the original PlayStation, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is a cinematic puzzle platformer that quickly became one of the most unique and memorable titles of its era. Developed by Oddworld Inhabitants, it introduced players to the strange, gritty and darkly humorous world of Oddworld: a universe filled with industrial oppression, enslaved species and biting social commentary. Its combination of moody atmosphere, clever design and emotional storytelling made it a cult classic.
You play as Abe, a lowly Mudokon worker at RuptureFarms, the galaxy's largest meat-processing plant. When Abe accidentally discovers that his fellow Mudokons are next on the menu, he decides to escape and free as many of his people as possible. Along the way, he'll sneak past guards, solve environmental puzzles and use his ability to chant and possess enemies - a groundbreaking mechanic at the time. Every decision matters: save your friends or leave them behind.
InvictusBM LP #014
My first PlayStation LP, and my first Oddworld LP of the three planned LPs (Abe's Exoddus and Munch's Oddysee follow in 2026). 100% is simply explained: rescue all 99 Mudokons and shut down RuptureFarms for good. The first two Oddworld games are HARD, especially this one - but thankfully I know the game pretty well, and so this wasn't a huge rage-fest. This LP lasted for 16 episodes.
