Full Name: Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble
Console: Super Nintendo
Release Year: 1996
LP Timeframe: October 5th - November 10th, 2025
The Donkey Kong Country trilogy on the Super Nintendo is one of Rare's crowning achievements, pushing the system to its limits with groundbreaking visuals, unforgettable music and tight platforming. Each entry refined the formula, introducing new playable characters, creative worlds and plenty of secrets to discover. By the time the third installment rolled around, Rare had fully mastered the SNES hardware, delivering one of the most ambitious 16-bit platformers ever made.
Released in 1996, Donkey Kong Country 3 put the spotlight on Dixie Kong, who returns from DKC2, and her cousin Kiddy Kong in an adventure across the Northern Kremisphere. This game leaned even harder into exploration with a large, interactive overworld filled with secrets, new animal buddies and some of the toughest challenges in the trilogy. The soundtrack, composed primarily by Eveline Novakovic, gave the game a distinctive, atmospheric tone that stood apart from the previous two.
InvictusBM LP #011
With this LP, we finished our first multi-LP project: the entire Donkey Kong Country trilogy! It had been a little longer since I played this one since I do prefer the previous two games, but it was still so much fun. 103% means: just like in DKC2, every bonus room and every DK coin. This LP lasted for 19 episodes.
